Hey Be-YOU-tifuls!
A few weeks ago, I made a decision that looked like defeat from the outside. I went back to doing delivery services. Not because I was giving up on my dream. Not because I was giving up on ConfidentlyHER™, my group coaching program. Not because I stopped believing in the work I do.
I went back because I felt stuck. Deeply, unmistakably stuck. And there was this voice, quiet at first, then louder, telling me to go back to things that used to make me happy. So I listened. I went back to roller skating. I picked up my crochet hooks again after years. I let myself play, create, move, and it helped. It reminded me of joy. It gave me permission to BE instead of constantly DO. But it wasn’t enough.
Something deeper was calling me. Something I couldn’t quite name at first. Then I realized: I was missing the feeling of serving others. The simple, uncomplicated joy of showing up for people and making their day a little easier. So I went back to delivery work. Not for the money. For the reminder.

What My Family Understood
To my family, it looked like failure. They questioned my decision. They made me feel like I was abandoning my dream. Like I didn’t have the resilience to face challenges. Like I had chosen the “easier path” instead of fighting for what I built. And… for a moment, I believed them. For a moment, I felt shame. Like maybe I wasn’t strong enough. Like maybe I should have pushed harder, hustled more, found another way to break through the stuck.
But somewhere between those quiet moments, something began to shift. And I remembered something I had forgotten: The joy of delivering food to strangers. The simple happiness of shopping for a stay-at-home mom with a newborn who couldn’t leave the house. The quiet satisfaction of helping a senior or someone with a disability get the meal they needed without struggle. I wasn’t just delivering food. I was serving people who needed help. And that? That brought me joy.
The Control Trap
Here’s what I realized while driving through neighborhoods, dropping off meals, smiling at people I’d never see again:
When you’re laser-focused on building a business, you can become a control freak without even realizing it. You want things to work a certain way. You want clients to show up on your timeline. You want your offers to sell when you launch them. You want the strategy to work exactly as the course promised. And when it doesn’t? You feel like YOU failed. Like something is wrong with you.
I had been living in that energy for months.
Obsessing over who opened my emails and who didn’t. Feeling crushed every time someone said “not right now.” Taking every “no” as personal rejection. Measuring my worth by how many people booked a call with me. And I forgot the one thing that actually matters: joy.

Serving From a Happy Place
Out there doing deliveries, something unexpected happened. I felt… happy. Not because delivery work is my dream. But because I was serving people without attachment. Without expectation. Without needing them to validate my worth.
Someone ordered dinner because they were tired. I brought it to them. They smiled. I smiled back. That was it. No rejection. No complicated funnel. No “did I say the right thing?” spiral. Just simple, joyful service. And in that simplicity, I remembered why I became a coach in the first place.
It was never about the business itself. It was never about the money. That doesn’t mean my coaching business is free, but it means I’ve stopped treating every “no” like a personal failure. I’m no longer selling from desperation, but now I’m inviting from alignment. I serve from joy, I charge my worth, and I trust that the right clients will say yes when the timing is right. For me, it’s about BEING in a space where I can serve people and help them transform.
That’s the BEING part of my Knowing-Doing-Being Method™. And I had completely lost it while building my business.
What I Had Forgotten
Somewhere along the way, I stopped focusing on the joy of serving and started focusing on the fear of failing. I stopped thinking about the women I wanted to help and started obsessing over conversion rates. I stopped showing up from alignment and started performing from desperation.
And you know what happens when you operate from that energy? Nothing flows. People feel it. They sense the need, the pressure, the “please say yes” desperation underneath your perfectly crafted pitch. And they pull back. Not because your offer isn’t good. But because you’re not in a good place while offering it.
The Real Lesson
Going back to delivery work wasn’t about the money. It was about remembering. Remembering that when I serve from a happy place, when I’m not attached to the outcome, when I’m just showing up to help, everything flows nicely. Money comes. Opportunities come. The right people show up. Not because I hustled harder or perfected my messaging. But because I remembered how to BE first.
This is what I teach in ConfidentlyHER™, and this is what I forgot to live myself:
Knowing what to do is important.
Doing the work is important.
But BEING in the right energy? That’s everything.
You can have the perfect strategy. You can know exactly what to post, what to say, how to sell. But if you’re not in a space of alignment. If you’re operating from fear, scarcity, or desperation, none of it works the way it should.
Stepping Back Isn’t Failure
So no, going back to delivery work wasn’t me giving up. It was me listening to that quiet voice telling me to return to what makes me happy. It was me giving myself permission to step back, breathe, and remember.
Remember why I do this work. Remember the joy that serving brings me. Remember that my worth isn’t tied to how many people say yes to my offers.
And honestly? That perspective shift is worth more than any strategy I could have learned. Because now I’m coming back to my business with something I didn’t have before: Clarity. Peace. Joy. I’m not scrambling anymore. I’m not desperate. I’m not performing. I’m just… here. Ready to serve the women who are ready. Ready to show up from a place of alignment instead of anxiety.
Are You Feeling Stuck Too?
Maybe you’re in a season right now where everything feels hard. Where you’re doing all the “right things” but nothing is working. Where every rejection feels personal. Where every slow month makes you question if you’re cut out for this.
I want you to know: stepping back doesn’t mean you’re failing. Sometimes stepping back is the smartest thing you can do. It gives you space to remember why you started. It reminds you that your worth isn’t tied to your business performance. It lets you reconnect with the joy of serving instead of the pressure of selling.
And when you come back? You come back different. Stronger. Clearer. More aligned. Listen to that voice telling you to go back to what makes you happy is not a distraction. It’s guidance.
I’m Still Here
ConfidentlyHER™, isn’t going anywhere. I’m still committed to helping women coaches and holistic practitioners bridge the gap between knowing what to do and actually doing it—with alignment, not just strategy. But now I’m doing it from a different place. A place where I remember that the BEING matters just as much as the doing. A place where I’m serving from joy, not fear. A place where I trust that the right clients will come when I’m in the right energy.
If you’ve been pushing too hard, controlling too much, or feeling the weight of “making it work”, maybe this is your permission slip too.
Step back if you need to. Breathe. Remember why you started. Listen to what brings you joy. Follow it. Trust it. And when you’re ready, come back stronger.
I’m right here with you.
With gratitude and clarity, Danoue G
